Assignment 7

Translating a song

The second translation is the better one in the handout.

You have seven seconds
To regret everything you’ve done
Just leave out the worst parts
What if a meteor falls on you
Before you can say the most important words

I will never forget you
Even if I lost my own name
You might be the one who
Saves me from under the meteor

If you knew how to avoid surprising attack
Or if you were hard as a rock
Would you really be happy
As invulnerable?
Or were you still longing something?

I will never forget you
Even if I lost my own name
You might be one of those random people
Who spit on my face

I will never forget you
Even if I lost my own name
You might be the one who
Saves me from under the meteor

I will never forget you
Even if I lost my own name
You might be one of those random people
Who spit on my face

I will never forget you
Even if I lost my own name
You might be the one who
Saves me from under the meteor

You might be the one who
Saves me from under the meteor
You might be the one who

Saves me from under the meteor

  1. I chose this assignment because it's probably the weakest one I have. It was hard to translate because this band has such vague lyrics. But I think I succeeded in holding the meaning of the song in this text maybe? I should improve better translating

  2. a)It does, you chose to translate the song from word to word and you succeeded in that.
b)It was well translated, it was a new and a different song to us all which was interesting.
c)The link didn't show any lyrics which was hard to figure out what translation you used,
